Context: This postdoctoral position is part of the European project TAKE-OFF (Clean Aviation programme), which is preparing the full-scale flight demonstration of Safran Aircraft Engines’ RISE Open Fan engine on the Airbus A380 flying testbed, with the aim of reducing fuel consumption by 30 % and entering service around 2035. Without a nacelle, the engine noise sources radiate directly into free field. LMFA (École Centrale de Lyon), in collaboration with LVA (INSA Lyon), is in charge of analysing the near-field pressure data acquired in flight by microphones installed on the fuselage, in order to reconstruct the engine noise sources. Objective: To extend the modal analysis methods developed at LMFA for ducted engines [1] to unducted fans. For the first time, modal analysis will be applied to microphones located in an unconfined medium and to modes radiating under free-field conditions, and design criteria specific to this configuration will be established (spatial sampling, resolution, array-to-rotor distance relative to the array size). Description: Task 1 – Model and inverse problem. Build a set of eigenfunctions describing the radiation of an unducted rotor-stator stage (spinning modes weighted by Bessel functions [2], spherical harmonics, etc.) and embed it in a Bayesian inverse approach [1] to estimate the modal amplitudes of tonal and broadband components. Flow and fuselage effects may be accounted for through CAA computations. Task 2 – Validation on the MAMBO database. The developments will be tested on an unducted propeller + stator configuration recently studied at LMFA (MAMBO project), instrumented with three arrays: a half-cylindrical array, a planar array on the side (representative of fuselage instrumentation) and a motorised arc array measuring directivity, which will serve as an independent reference. This study will assess the robustness of the method and define array design criteria. Task 3 – Application to flight tests. The methodology will be appl

Veo is an AI-powered sports camera and analysis ecosystem built for one job: turning what happens on a pitch into proof. Capture, viewing, data and analytics, sharing- all in one system, all pointed at the same thing. That's bigger than football. Every player, on every pitch, gets access to the kind of proof only the top academies used to keep for themselves. It's the future we're building. Every youth match still has a moment nobody saw. A run that won the game, underneath everyone's radar. A kid written off before anyone actually checked. We exist to close that gap, one match at a time. One camera on any pitch feeds an AI that tracks every player and the ball for the whole game, turning what happened into evidence instead of somebody's opinion. That's the actual job here. Not shipping features. Building the system that gives proof to someone who used to rely on a hunch. If you've ever watched a match and wondered who else saw what you saw, you already know why this matters. We're looking for people who want to build that future with us. The Opportunity As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Veo, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering and external partnerships, helping turn integration needs into working solutions at scale. This role is part of Veo’s API team and combines hands-on engineering with close collaboration across teams and partners. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and will be based in our Berlin office, working as part of a small, focused team alongside engineers and a Technical Product Manager. Besides working on Veo’s API (a core feature) with your team, you will also engage directly with partners to understand their technical needs. You’ll help shape integration approaches, and deliver solutions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the problem, comfortable moving between conversations and code,
